i know it's been a while since i've watched this movie but i really wanted to do a review and here i am !
where do i start ??? okay ! hahaha ! i'm consoling myself !
darren aronofsky has done it again ! i mean after requiem for a dream (sighs in awe) !
darren has chosen the perfect cast for this physiological thriller ! the black swan !
the movie starts with nina'd dream where she , the swan queen is dancing a ballet harmonised by tchaikovsky ! i think the ballet is called rothbart's cease or something like that ! in that scene , i mean , it's just a normal ballet but what darren did was he added that element horror and shock to it! special effect for rothbart's horns were used (sighs love that scene )
the movie then moves to her ballet try outs for the new ballet , "the swan lake"
nina is chosen as the swan queen but the conflict here is she only embodies the white swan but fails to breathe her evil metamorphosis , :the black swan" .
i mean , its just crazy ! i mean crazy ! not everyone would love this movie as much as i do cause of some racy scenes , but who cares !
as anne hatthaway said " you get naked , you get nominated" hahahaha !
the movie brings us to many questions but will be answered in the end ! there were nooooo loop holes at all ! for me , that is !
natalie portman delivers her role magnificently as she embodied it so well !
favourite scenes : 1 . rothbart's dungeon .
2 . the mirror scene .
3 . the bathtub scene .
4 . the feather plucking scene .
5 . the black swan dance .
6 . the swan transformation
7 . the ending "i was perfect" !
i still watch this movie from time to time and eversince i have watched almost all of darren aronofsky's films ! he loves paranoia ! i love paranoia !
this is not your typical ballet movie !
