what do we think of the greatest !

i mean honestly i had this dvd in my shelf for more than a month . the truth is , i've never heard of this one , thanks to the most awesome est'est'est  person ever (she's gonna be sooo freaking *red face* mad at me when she sees this )

coming back to the movie , it centers on the usual kinda relationship that any teen would have . oh sure ! he only talks to her on the last day of school but they had that " i don't talk to you , you don't talk to me " thing going on which was really annoying ! i mean stuff like that doesn't really happen , but then again they're americans (the land of many possibilities ) anything can happen there .
i like how the movie starts . you know ... the whole dear john thing that really made me sleep (hahahhhaha) . the car crashes and POOOFF i'm awake ! good one ! anyway , carey mulligan , i mean i will not talk about her performance as she seems to never get a bad role ! she's a good actress (afterall , she is british )

she becomes pregnant and she decideds to live of the child's father's parent's house (love the compication of that line ) . susan sarandon had that whole (stepmom) thing going on . i felt sometimes she was screamingat the wrong person . nevermind that ! will not reveal anymore details of the plot .

pierce brosnan was a bit stiff when he did those crying scenes . he's not a very good actor you know , all he cares is looking bond'ish and brit'ish ! hahahahhha !  and what was with that annoying lady at his school . her character was insignificant . EDIT people ! EDIT !

the movie had that juno kinda vibe and the grief period was a bit touching but other than that , i wouldn't watch this movie again unless i have nothing better to do .

Lost in Austen to be Hollywood film

ITV's critically acclaimed Jane Austen time-travel drama Lost in Austen is to be made into a Hollywood movie with Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes as producer. The high-concept drama, which originally aired on ITV1 in September last year, featured a contemporary Austen fan transported into the late 18th century world of Pride and Prejudice heroine Elizabeth Bennet. A movie version is now being developed for Sony Pictures, the Hollywood studio behind James Bond movie Quantum of Solace and the forthcoming Angels and Demons, by the TV show's original UK independent producer Mammoth Screen, which has credits including BBC1's Bonekickers, and Neal Street Productions – maker of the Oscar-nominated Revolutionary Road. As the project is still at an early stage, there are currently no casting details. The show's original writer, Guy Andrews, is currently working on the script. It will be executive produced by Mammoth Screen's Damien Timmer and Michele Buck, with Neal Street Productions' Mendes and Pippa Harris as producers. Even though he is not due to direct the film, Mendes' high profile in Hollywood will give the project a boost. His last film, Revolutionary Road, starring his wife Kate Winslett and Leonardo DiCaprio, has been nominated for three Oscars. A source familiar with the project said: "There has been a huge amount of interest in a film version of Lost in Austen and with Neal Street and Sony, Mammoth Screen seem to have found the perfect fit. "The TV serial was so acclaimed it's a great stamp of approval on the high concept approach that they took to the story and all the executives are really excited to re-imagine it for the big screen, looking to the best film talent possible to make it a massive box office hit." Lost in Austen was one of ITV1's most critically acclaimed dramas of last year. Although it only averaged about 4 million viewers, a high proportion were from the key ABC1 demographic. source by : siew may wah

what do we think of NEVER LET ME GO !

FIRST OF ALL , I HAVE TO SAY THAT I REALLY COULDN’T WAIT TO WATCH THIS MOVIE (DUE TO THE KEIRA KNIGTLEY FACTOR) HAHAHA AND I DEFINITELY KNEW THAT IT WASN’T GOING TO BE SCREENED IN MALAYSIA .
GOOD MOVIES ARE NEVER SCREENED HERE !

ANYWAY , I KINDA LIKE THIS MOVIE !

ACTUALLY I KNEW I WOULD LOVE THIS MOVIE EVEN BEFORE WATCHING IT !

IT’S JUST THESE CERTAIN AURAS , OR VIBES THAT THE STORY CONVEYS .

FROM THE MORNINGDALE SCANDAL TO THE GALLERY TO THE HEART BRAKING DEFERALS , THE STUDENTS AT HAILSHAM SLOWLY COME TO LEARN ABOUT THEY’RE SPECIAL SELVES .

STUDENTS AT THIS HAILSHAM ACADEMY ARE RAISED TO DONATE THEIR ORGANS WHEN THEY ARE OF AGE .

AND ONCE THE 3RD OR THE 4TH DONATIONS ARE OVER , THEIR SHORT LIVES WOULD BE COMPLETED . (HOW SAD IS THAT?)

THE MOVIE IS VERY TRUE TO THE BOOK EXCEPT FOR CERTAIN MINIMAL SCENES WHICH AREN’T EVEN NECESSARY .

FOR INSTANCE , THE SCENE WHERE RUTH , KATHY AND TOMMY GO LOOKING FOR RUTH’S POSSIBLES.

IN THE MOVIE , THEY WOULD ONLY LOOK AT RUTH’S POSSIBLE FROM THE WINDOW BUT THAT’S NOT THE CASE IN THE BOOK .

THE THREE OF THEM ACTUALLY STALK THE POSSIBLE(THE WOMEN HHHAHAHA) ALONG THE STREET , WHICH WAS A GOOD THING THAT MARK ROMANEK DID !

THIS IS WHAT I CALL ELITE EDITING !

HAAHHAA !

ANYWAY , CAREY MULLIGAN POTRAYS KATHY H VERY WELL .

SHE’S REALLY TALENTED .

OF COURSE , IT’S THE USUAL CRY BABY CHARACTER BUT THERE’S DEFINITELY VARIETY AAND VERSATILITY IN HER PERFORMANCE .

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY WHO PLAYED RUTH , BLOWS ME AWAY CAUSE IT’S CREEPY . SHE POTRAYED HER JUST AS HOW RUTH WAS FROM THE BOOK . CREEPY ! SHE’S SOOOO GOOD !

ESPECIALLY THE SCENE AFTER RUTH DOES HER SECOND DONATION . AND THE BOAT SCENE AND THE *SO NOT* SCENE WHICH SHE COPIED FROM RODNEY AND CHRISSY FROM THE COTTAGES .

ANDREW GARFIELD FROM THE LIKES OF THE SOCIAL NETWORK AND OTHER SMALL BRITISH MOVIES DOES A VERY GOOD JOB PLAYING TOMMY D !

I GUESS ANDREW IS SORT OF LIKE TOMMY .HAHAHHA !

THE GEEKY PART !

BUT THEN AGAIN , I’M GEEKY AND NERDY AND PROUD OF IT !

COMING BACK TO THIS MOVIE , SOME SCENES JUST MADE ME BLUE .

HAHAHHAHA ! AS IN IT MADE ME CRY ? HAHA ! NOT CRY BUT JUST SAD !

1 . RUTH COMES OUT OF THE WASHROOM TO FIND KATHY H IN HER ROOM .

2 .RUTH AFTER HER SECOND DONATION WHICH LINKS TO THE FRIST SCENE .

3. TOMMY D ASKES KATHY H TO STOP THE CAR AND HE SCREAMS FOR HIS LIFE .

4.MADAME AND MISS EMILY REVEAL ABOUT THOSE STUPID RUMOURS (THE DEFERALS) (SIGH, HOW MY HEART SANK).

5.RUTH COMES INTO KATHY’S ROOM AT THE COTTAGES AND WARNES HER NOT SEDUCE TOMMY . (KEIRA , SHE’S SUCH AN AWESOME ACTREES ) .

6.RUTH FINALLY COMPLETES HER DONATIONS AND DIES .

7.THE END WHERE KATHY H DECIDES TO BECOME A DONOR AS SHE STARES INTO THE SKY FANTASISING ABOUT TOMMY .

MY ONLY QUESTION IS , WHY DIDN’T KAZUO ISHIGURO , THE AUTHOR OF THE BOOK , CREATE ANOTHER POSIBBLE PATHWAY WHICH ENABLED THE STUDENTS OF HAILSHAM TO RUNAWAY TO FREEDOM ?

MR. ISHIGURO , WHY ?

AND DO YOU THINK THIS MOVIE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE VIEW OF THE ACADEMY ?

JUDGING THE FACT THAT SOME SHITTY MOVIES LIKE THE THE TOURIST AND THE TOURIST COULD BE NOMINATED FOR BEST PICTURE , ACTOR AND ACTRESS !

KEIRA , AFTER PRIDE AND PREJUDICE , THE ACADEMY HAS SHUT YOUR TALENT AWAY , AND YOU MIGHT END UP LIKE STEVEN SPIELBERG , LEONARDO DICAPRIO , AND CHRIS NOLAN !

ALL IN ALL , THIS MOVIE WAS REALLY GOOD , AS GOOD AS THE BOOK AND EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH THIS !

THEY ARE NO SLEEPY MOMENTS IN THIS MOVIE , TRUST ME !

HINTS * THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON *

THE AWESOME BOOK BY KASHUO ISHIGURO !                                                      I HAVE 3 OF HIS NOVELS ! NEED TO GET MORE !

what do we think of NOTES ON A SCANDAL

she sits at her desk filling her diary with sheba hart  all over it ! hhahahha !
this movie showcases possessiveness in a different kind of way , the type which i've never seen before , and that to come out from dame judi dench ! hahahhaa !

i was really really bored last night , so i decided to stroll along my dvd collection and POOOFF ! i find NOTES ON A SCANDAL !

although this movie was released way back in 2006 and getting recognition for it's excellence at the oscars with 4 nominations including best actress and best supporting actress for dame judi dench and cate blanchett respectively .

the movie begins with barbra covett writing her heart out  and slowly moves to the introduction of sheba hart (cate blanchett) who happens to be a new art teacher at the school where barbra teaches .

slowly , they become the best of friends . you know , the kind where "i tell you my secret , you tell me your " hahahahaa !  and just like all good things , the end was seemingly close .

the movie picks up it's pace when sheba hart is involved in a sexual relationship with one of her students and this was being watched by barba !  (sighs! i love movies with unexpected conflicts ) and from here onwards ,  the movie grabs your attention till the very end of the movie!( i'm serious , it's like you wwant to know more . trust me , you won't sleep ) hahaha !

we get to see many familiar faces in the movie , for instance andrew simpson who we saw in the film songs for a raggy boy , and we have juno temple who we saw in ATONEMENT  and the other boleyn girl ! bill nighly who played the evil davvy jones in jerry bruckheimer's pirates of the carribean oh ! and love actually .  so , it's quite a cast !

cate blanchett never fails to impress me in every movie and this one too ! her raw edge but still cool performance landed her an oscar nomination for the role .

dame judi dench ! i mean i don't have to say anything about her ! she can do anything ! hahaha !

conclusion :   love the movie an you will tooo ! go watch it ! hahahha 1 WWHHHEEEE ! oh and  i must remind you of another twist to the movie ! i'm not telling you people !  go watch the movie !

leave a comment if you must !
the crazy scene where she goes nuts ! hahha !

                                        the twist ! ooopps !

what do we think of rio !

hahaa! jesse eisenberg 's a flightless bird !
at last 20th century fox with another animation flick !
i don't really fancy animation flicks these days cause they are all almost the same and have no variety . finding nemo and ratatouie  are 2 pixar movies which i can still watch till this day and still can laugh out loud (for nemo) .

anyway , this movie starts of very plesantly , rich in intense exotic brazilian colours !  it's starts of with this song called "rio" in the tropics of brazil ! the most lovable thing about this scene was the colours especially the parrots . although it has a few bits and pieces of other cartoons ( i will not mention the title ) , it does play true to the animation world and it's audience and that is to entertain the public .

the movie then moves on to the relationship between a pet and an owner . what was her name ????? anyway , blu which happens to be the only male bird of his kind is invited to brazil to mate (hahhahaa) with a female to preserve and conserve his species .  the whole marley and me thingy here was very touching as i have the same kind of relationship with my dog ! i love him (socks, been with me for 12 years and counting ) . do you even believe i teared up for marley and me ! oh and fox and the hound ?????

anyway , linda ( i remembered her name ) goes with blu (jesse eisenberg) from tinysoda to brazil to meet this bird , jewel (anne hatthaway) . they happen to be the most exotic blue birds  and they are smuggled by these men ! eventually they escape and that's where the real story begins .

the movie had it's fair share of funny moments (you might find annoying bunch people laughing of their asses for the whole movie ! ANNOYING ! )  . it also had it's lightness to the musical numbers . i don't quite like the number by will i am and jamie fox , but i like song the evil owl sings . yeah ! that was nice and what else ?????

overall , this movie was kinda okay to watch judging the fact that animation flicks these days suck and what ever you do , don't forget about those annoying brats laughing behind you .
will i am and jamie fox as the uplifting charm !

what do we think of waiting for superman !

" our system is broken ,  and it seems impossible to fix , but we can't wait "

i mean  , it seems that america is almost perfect ! the land of second chances .
i only watched this cause st Oprah recommended it and i have to tell you ,  st Oprah is what she is for a reason .

watch this documovie as it reveals the catastrophe behind it's country's  education system . Davis gugenheim's feature makes us realise how important education is and this doesn't only apply to america but to the whole world as each country faces it's own vexations .

The movie starts with a few families that find it a struggle to their children's education . So interestingly made , this documentary will definitely not add an eye bag or two ! hahahaha ! it's actually is enlighten with some really really interesting theories (note : the lemon dance and the tenure principal) !

Davis gugenheim cleverly produces  (as what he would call  , his second baby ) with editions of  simple but eye catching animations to illustrate the realities of a charter our even a low performing academy from the bronx .

Many familiar faces appear in this feature to pour their opinions on this matter . people like Bill gates , michele ree whom who i will be talking about later on , and many more . Davis Gugenheim   , who brought us to the view of some spectacular docu-movies  like " an inconvient truth " and a few episodes of melrose place and 24 brought real raw emotions to this and i mean  tears and anger and happiness ( and i'm talking from my point of  view ) hahahha !

okay , coming back to michele rhee , who happens to be the education chancelor of the state of columbia .
i have sooooooo much respect for this women . unlike some people who are  in the view of the public who only crap on stage for speech sake ,  michele rhee actually does what she says .
she went on a firing spree  ( hahahaha that's what oprah said )

she fired so many teachers and principals even the ones from her children's school ! hahahha ! there really are teachers who deserve the sack but in america there's something called a tenure which i'm not gonna talk about ! you watch this and you will know ! hahahha! (i sound sooo mystical ) .

anyway , the most shocking thing to me was the lottery system in schools  , as in children getting admitted to a school only depending on a numbered ball ( it's actually bingo) or luck ! LUCK ! i really hope i don't see anything like this in malaysia . OH WAIT ! it's not luck but it's  another matter  in malaysia . hahaha !

michele rhee ,the women who went on a firing spree !

to conclude , i feel sooo lucky and you too should feel the same . just clear your schedule for the day and watch this ! you won't regret it ! better still , watch it with your family ! hahahaha !

Peter Shaffer's Amadeus in 30 seconds

Amadeus - Funny Parts

this movie is actually very funny ! you need to watch this !

what do we think of amadeus (1984)

i have to admit , i only watched this movie cause it won 8 academy awards and it's dvd cover was very interesting !  amadeus seemed a familiar name ! why of course , wolfgang amadeus mozart .
one of the most celebrated musicians of all time .
this movie follows on the story told by the famous opera writer antonio salieri , the man of whom he accused of himself to murder mozart .

like all victorian age movies , it did have it's fair share of spectacular tailored costumes and art direction .
it had the typical victorian air but unlike other movies , it didn't even have one sleepy moment ! the whole movie was tip top ! it was funny ! hillarious actually (note mozart's laughter ) hahhahaa ! it was engaging , moving , even frustrating at times .

academy award winning director , milos forman managed to turn a story of what some people might say boring , into a very moving  but critically acclaimed statue esq movie .

F. Murray Abraham   did a terrific job playing the estraged and jealous composer , antonio salieri earning him an oscar for the role .  it's just a wonder to see him convey the role on the screen .

Tom Hulce        who played mozart  was awesome . i didn't even know mozart was a player and i certainly  didn't know that he was a proud and selfish man . i thought he died of old age but (sigh) , it seemed he brougt death to himself . his iconic laughter still rings in my mind . totally didn't expect that from mozart . by the look of him , i thought he was more of a reserved character . hahahaha ! i guess  i was wrong !

i will and i WILL NOT  comment about the others as their roles were rather small  and didn't impact me like these two . music was awesome as we got to hear some of mozart's compositions .

mozart doing the iconic laugh ! hahahhaa !
below : the interesting dvd cover !
it was a clever movie  and i loved everything about this movie . good attempt for one of the greatest stories ever told !
